What we collect

SmartFix collects your name and email for account management, plus the issue details, optional photo, and optional GPS location that you choose to submit.

Why we collect it

Information is used to review, assign, prioritise, and resolve local infrastructure reports. Residents can see only their own reports.

Privacy by design

Passwords are stored as one-way bcrypt hashes. Role checks protect staff workflows, CSRF tokens protect forms, and staff-only notes are not shown in public listings.

Retention and control

This prototype retains reports for service history. Contact the system administrator to request correction or deletion. Demonstration data should be removed before production use.

Accessibility commitment

Forms use labels, controls are keyboard accessible, focus states are visible, colours are paired with text, and responsive layouts support small screens.

Prototype limitation

SmartFix is a local demonstration system. A production deployment would require formal council privacy review, data-retention approval, secure hosting, backups, and accessibility testing with users.
